We are now re-named "Victor & Catherine Briggs Foundation" (Previous name: Victor Briggs Foundation)
The scholarship scheme aims to provide educational sponsorship to students from unresourced and economically disadvantaged backgrounds pursuing undergraduate studies in Nigerian Tertiary Institutions. The Program is under the auspices of the Dr. Patience Ikenyiri Center For Educational, Career and Entrepreneurial Empowerment.
Beneficiaries of the scholarship award will receive financial sponsorship for tuition and fees through to the end of their undergraduate program. Beneficiaries may also receive a feeding stipend, contingent on the availability of funding.
Community Partners
The scholarship program is statutorily carried out with the support of community organizations, and sometimes as official partnerships with these organizations. Our community partners are community-centric organizations that empower, serve the concerns of, and improve the quality of life of members within their communities. Community partners help us identify the most vulnerable fellows within their communities and offer recommendation for the scholarship scheme.
For the purposes of the scholarship award scheme, we consider the following eligible as community organizations: faith-based organizations and faith-based groups, religious organizations, grass-root organizations and initiatives, charity groups, charity initiatives and organizations, peer group networks, and other community-centric non-profits and NGOs.
Scholarship Application
Application for the scholarship scheme is on a recommendation and nomination basis by our official community partners. Nominated candidates will receive application materials and application instructions for the scholarship scheme. Upon successful review of scholarship application, candidates will receive their official scholarship award letter detailing the terms of their award, followed with the disbursement of scholarship funds.
Donations and Funding
The Scholarship program is funded by benevolent donations. The continuity of funding guarantees that we continue to serve those students and families who are most in need of the program.
If you'd like to make a one-time or recurring donation to the scholarship fund, you can do so here: Make a Donation.
