Dr. Patience N. Ikenyiri Centre for Educational, Career and Entrepreneurial Empowerment executes programmes to enhance the educational, career and entrepreneurial efforts of unresourced fellows within underserved Nigerian communities, with the ultimate vision of cushioning extreme poverty. Some of its programs and initiatives include but are not limited to:
Need-based scholarships
Support and empowerment for small businesses
Career enhancement programs
Trade & skill acquisition initiatives etc.
The division also houses the proposed not-for-profit university, The Victor & Catherine Briggs University and the Allwell Briggs Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Mercy David Centre for Mental Wellness, Crisis Management, and Women Empowerment is tasked with sourcing and implementing initiatives that foster mental wellness as well as providing social and welfare services for unresourced families and individuals, especially those undergoing circumstantial crisis.
The division has an extended objective of women empowerment, and protection. Areas of key focus include:
Education of the girl child
Curbing domestic and misogynistic violence
Challenging cultural and systemic prejudices that are oppressive towards women etc.
The Lilian Emem Centre for Hunger Alleviation, Food Security and Sustainability has an overall objective to end hunger and cushion food insecurity among economically vulnerable households within Nigerian communities.
The division houses the Food Bank Initiative and the proposed Initiative for Sustainable Agricultural Biotechnology, Mechanization and Economics, ISABIOME.
Food insecurity remains the utmost daily concern of the average Nigerian, this inspires our vision of ending hunger and cushioning food insecurity among the most vulnerable households.
Initiative for Sustainable Agricultural Biotechnology, Mechanization and Economics (ISABIOME)
ISABIOME will act as a robust, not-for-profit consortium of relevant academics, experts, professionals, government and industry entities and other interested parties to competently convene resources to tackle the menace of hunger and food insecurity within our communities.
Under the auspices of the Victor & Catherine Briggs Foundation, ISABIOME will support, sponsor and augment research and operations for local researchers, industry captains, small and medium enterprises, scholars and other relevant entities whose operations or research considerably address issues as it relates to food production, food distribution and food sustainability. Research and operational areas including but not limited to: agriculture and agricultural engineering, agricultural genomics and biotechnology, agricultural economics, agro-mechanization, food and agro-sustainability, supply chain and distribution etc.
